Virginia Praschnik

My artistic practice is deeply rooted in representational art, where I use oil painting impasto techniques with a palette knife to accentuate textures and explore color and contrast. This approach imparts a distinct character to my work.

Growing up in my mother’s art studio in Uruguay, I developed a passion for creativity from an early age. I began art school at the age of five, which further solidified my artistic journey. In 1981, I moved to New York, where I expanded my exploration of art to include disciplines such as metalsmithing, design, and sculpture. Later, in 1987, I settled in Miami Beach, South Florida, which has since become my cherished home.

While I’ve achieved success in both design and visual arts, with 23 national and international design awards, painting remains my preferred method of communication. It’s through painting that I find liberation and can express myself authentically.

Even to this day, the art studio continues to be my playground—a space where I freely explore my creativity and embark on new artistic endeavors. Through my representational art, characterized by impasto oil painting techniques and a palette knife, I convey my unique artistic voice and engage viewers with textured and vibrant compositions.
