Creativity has always been a thread running through my life – music, theater, design, writing, even baking – but for years, it lived quietly in the margins while I followed a more “practical” path in operations, technology, and management. My father’s voice echoed in my head, insisting that art wasn’t a real career. It kept my creative passions contained to side projects and hobbies – until 2011, when something changed. I felt an unexpected pull toward painting. And since my past creative work always demanded precision and getting things just right, I chose abstract expression. I figured if there were no rules, I couldn’t get it wrong.

That first experience was humbling. I spent 15 minutes frozen in front of the blank canvas, overwhelmed by the freedom. With no plan or instruction manual, I forced myself to make the first mark, mixing colors without a clue what I was doing. By the end of the session, I hated everything – the painting, the process, and the emotions that surfaced. Never again! But somehow, overnight, the terrible mess I left on the canvas transformed into a piece of art that was alive – full of color, texture, and something I couldn’t quite name. I didn’t believe I was the one who painted it. By surrendering control, I had unlocked a deeper part of myself. I realized I wasn’t just painting; I was channeling something larger – my spirit and the pulse that connects us all.

Based in Wilton Manors, Florida, I’ve since found that each painting is a conversation – between my humanity, the unseen energy around me, and the materials I work with. I paint mostly with palette knives, acrylics, and heavy gel mediums, creating richly textured surfaces that evoke a sense of touch and reveal new details from every angle. Most of my pieces can be displayed in multiple orientations, encouraging you to discover new perspectives – not just in the painting, but in yourself. My goal is always the same: to create art that resonates with the heart and spirit, bringing bold color, movement, and energy into spaces where people live, work, and reflect.

If you’ve read my story this far, thank you for being part of this journey with me. I look forward to connecting with you personally – so do reach out and say hello. If something in my work speaks to you, listen closely. You may find you are meant for each other. And may it bring you the same sense of joy, freedom, and quiet excitement that I feel every time I step back from a finished canvas (or see it with fresh eyes the next day).
