They say that J.M.W Turner measured the “moods” of nature through his paintings. Light, color, and texture capture those powerful forces and delicate nuances in nature. Like him, I channel nature’s serenity through my atmospheric paintings with soft, blended, undulating swaths of color and raw texture. Growing up in the Mediterranean, there was no shortage of sea or sky; distant and hazy landscapes marked my experience of the world around me. Through my luminous paintings, I reflect on the atmospheric conditions of where I grew up and the places I have lived and traveled throughout my life. My work explores this ever-changing dialogue of seeking harmony within the tumult, the calm within the storm.
