CALL FOR ARTISTS
DEADLINE: Friday, May 17, 2024. Submit up to 3 works, send image of your work here. VERY IMPORTANT! Label the image(s) of your submitted work(s) First Name, Last Name, Title, Medium, Size & Price.
EXAMPLE: Andy-Warhol- CAMPBELLSOUP-20×20- Oil-4500.jpg. Limited size minimum – 11×14, maximum – 36×54. Be sure and submit your short Artist Statement/Descriptions.
THEME: Purposely Whimsical Purple. We want to see in your work, purple as the predominate color. Purple is often thought of as a regal, royal color that, on its own, denotes pride. Like blue, purple is considered a calming color, but rather than being associated only with calm, the color purple connects us to the spiritual realm.
Open to painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor & alcohol inks), photography, 3D/sculpture, mixed media, ink drawing, and graphic arts.
ACCEPTANCE: Everyone will be notified by email if your work has or has not been chosen to exhibit.
LOCATION: Island City Cultural Center, 600 NE 21st Court, Wilton Manors, FL 33305 EXHIBIT DATES: Saturday, June 8, 2024 – Friday, July 12, 2024
INTAKE: Saturday, June 1, 2024; 11am – 1pm. Bring your chosen art to Island City Cultural Center.
RECEPTION: Saturday, June 8, 2024 / 6pm – 8pm. Awards announced at 7:30pm.
OUTTAKE: Saturday, July 13, 2024; 11am – 1pm. If you are not available, please arrange to have someone pick up artwork(s) on time.
ENTRY FEES: $35 – up to 3 artworks. ArtsUnited members. Not a member or need to renew?, go to https://artsunitedflorida.com/membership/
BE PREPARED: If your work has been chosen, have your Call For Artist (THIS FORM) clearly filled out, print and bring with you to Intake. DON’T FORGET FORM!!! IMPORTANT!!! Artwork(s) must be clearly labeled on the back with with Artist’s Name, TITLE, Size & Price (including the 25%. No sawtooth hangers. Artwork MUST be wired and ready to hang! NO EXCEPTIONS!
YOUR ARTWORK MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR THE LENGTH OF THE SHOW. NO PICKUP before the scheduled time. During the Exhibit Period the gallery is open Fri & Sat 6pm – 8pm.
* ArtsUnited receives 30% of each artwork sale. Make sure to add 30% to your price above. I understand that although every precaution is taken when handling the work, ArtsUnited is not responsible for any damage, loss or theft of work.
If artwork is sold during the exhibit, ArtsUnited has up to 30 days after exhibit closing to issue payment to the artists for the sold piece or pieces.
