The mission of ArtsUnited is to overcome barriers preventing the LGBTQ community from contributing fully and openly to the cultural, social and economic success of South Florida, as well as connecting LGBTQ artists and allies to the development of the arts and cultural scene. We work to grow, promote and increase the visibility of ArtsUnited. To fulfill our mission and serve our community, we need qualified board members who are interested in advancing the needs and goals of LGBTQ and allied artists. Ideal board members will have the following qualities and experiences:
- Fundraising experience
- Finance or Accounting experience
- Previous experience on governing boards
- Diversity of backgrounds and experience
- Willingness and time availability to participate in monthly Board meetings, special meetings, and more frequent committee work.
We encourage interested members of ArtsUnited to apply for candidacy to serve on the Board of Directors and hold office for one year term. Elections will be held at the annual meeting. All candidates must read and agree to abide by the Board of Directors Commitment Statement, the Conflict of Interest (Directors) and Confidentiality Policy Statement, and all applicable guidelines.
