Sherman Yee

Sherman Yee is an NYC/Fort Lauderdale artist working in watercolor, acrylic mediums as well as the digital/NFT space. His first group show was at the Leslie-Lohman Museum alongside hero artists Keith Haring, Tom of Finland and Andy Warhol. This 2019 show was about the Male Gaze and coincided with the 50th anniversary of Stonewall and World Pride 50.

Sherman has 20+ years of experience as a creative director in advertising and design. He draws and paints at various creative collectives around New York City including Leslie-Lohman Prince Street Projects and LGBT center. He draws inspiration from the male form following in footsteps of inspirations such as Tom of Finland.

Sherman’s work is figurative with touches of impressionistic qualities. Additionally, his work plays with the male figure and their masculinity in many forms. Sherman’s work explores the idea that male beauty is significant. Normalizing queer relationships so the viewer can see the spectrum of masculinity. Color is very important in his work. His colorful art is an expression of different emotions in each painting.
