Ilene Adams

Ilene Gruber Adams, owner of The Marketing Works of Palm Beach, is a web designer, graphic designer, marketing guru, and artist who combines her business acumen with her artistic skills to create branding and marketing for businesses. She is a Wix agency partner and creates websites and markets businesses worldwide.

After owning a nationally acclaimed multimillion-dollar broadcast marketing company in the Northeast for over 20 years, Ilene moved to Florida and shifted her interest to small businesses and the arts. Her company was the first all-female radio-marketing company in the country.

Ilene has worked in the non-profit art world, bringing her marketing talents and creativity to the Armory Art Center and several art organizations, working to advance art and artists in the community, and offering her expertise through seminars on marketing your art.

She has curated numerous shows, including exhibits for ArtSynergy’s Art Palm Beach and Art Forms at Art Boca. She has also been a judge several times for ArtiGras, an international outdoor art show, Old School Square Fest, Naples Art Shows, Artists of Palm Beach County, Wellington Art Society, and several smaller exhibitions. She has served as a board member at several organizations, including ArtSynergy, Artists of Palm Beach County, and Wellington Art Society. She was a long-time advisor for the Cultural Affairs Committee for West Palm Beach. She also volunteers at the Norton and is the designer of the volunteer newsletter.

Adams works in mixed media and photography, often combining the two in installation pieces. Her photography is generally bright, over-accentuated colors that push the limits and transform everyday objects and nature into abstract images. On the other hand, her mixed media work is usually nostalgic and delicate and looks at how our world and life mesh together. Ilene has a studio at Zero Empty Spaces in Legacy Place, Palm Beach Garden, and is currently exhibiting online and in brick-and-mortar galleries.

On a personal note, Ilene is married and lives in Jupiter. She has two daughters and is a proud grandmother of two boys, with two more grandchildren on the way. She is an avid yogi, loves the beach, and spends as much time traveling with her husband as time and money allows.

“Go into the arts. I’m not kidding. The arts are not a way to make a living. They are a very human way of making life more bearable. Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven’s sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.” ~ Kurt Vonnegut
