Charity Irizarry
Hello, my name is Charity Irizarry, creator of Soul Art by Charity. I began painting “Soul Portraits” in 2008, stunning one-of-a-kind canvas portraits expressing soul essence; using acrylics and mixed media (beads, crystals, stones, and lots of glitter!) to engage in the flow of subtle energy, transforming a vibrant inner landscape into unique art that energizes one’s inner light. I believe that creating a sacred painting practice illuminates wisdom from within and I love to paint meaningful and symbolic Soul Art and channel this creative connection as an outlet, further opening my heart as a healer and visionary to find clarity and presence in the creative now!
In 2016, my love for painting large canvases drew me toward painting surfboards using Posca acrylic pens. I love the ocean and conservation which inspired me to create dynamic art on reclaimed Florida surfboards I call “Soul Boards.” I clean, sand, repair and prep each board as a canvas before I can get started on the art! Each surfboard is unique and tell insightful stories usually through brightly colored animals and sea life.
My professional background is in medicine as a provider and PA educator, I recognize the value of using art as an Integrative wellness practice for personal transformation and as a mirror for self-awareness. I am celebrating 13 years breast cancer free and art guided me through my healing and I guide others to find their own answers through soulful art expression.
