Shanique Dawkins was born and raised in Portland, Jamaica. She has an innate passion for the interplay of light and shadow. Her artwork draws inspiration from her everyday interests and seamlessly combines her love for music, history, family, nature, and spirituality to create visually captivating narratives.
Shanique’s subjects range from intricate human faces, animals, and still life, to the exploration of abstract figures. She employs a mixed-media approach, incorporating charcoal, pastels, acrylics, and found objects. By discarding conventional boundaries, Shanique celebrates the limitless possibilities of art and creates something truly unique.
